Abstract

When we talk about loanwords, we almost inevitably think of English. This article does not come to contradict this idea but to qualify it by showing the contribution of a whole panel of languages (Italian, Spanish, Catalan but also modern Greek, Norwegian among others). The corpus consists of an issue of a decoration magazine: Maisons Côté Sud. Linguistic records are also taken into account. Advertising is also decrypted. We can conclude that the title of the magazine is too restrictive with respect to what it offers: it goes beyond the habitat since it also deals with cooking and textiles
