Abstract

The present essay tries to question “the democratic” aspect of the education from the perspective of sociology, being emphasized the existing incongruence between the constitutional legal norm in Mexico and its own educative reality, with the purpose of establishing the necessity to apply to the methodology and sociological epistemology to the pedagogical activity that –according to the law– it must be distributed under democracy yardstick. One outlines the
multiplicity of inherent fields to the education as well as categories and concepts of diverse authors who allude to a diversity of problems to put of relief their complexity. A general overhaul of diverse socio-pedagogical currents is exposed which provide the necessary bases for a suitable exploration of the democratic aspect of the education and it is put of relief that the single mention, in a right rule, of certain educative yardstick, is not sufficient so that the socio-educative reality is developed and it takes place under these parameters.
